Exciting outlook for walking

Wonderful prospects at Hohe Mut Alm and Top Mountain Star

A fine experience for the whole family is a mineralogy walk looking for garnets in Gaisberg Valley or a glaciological excursion to Rotmoos Valley. And a new 8-seater gondola to the summit of Hohe Mut (2670m) now serves the most spectacular viewpoint in the whole of the Tyrol – with no fewer than 21 3000-metre-high mountains to be admired.

Not to be missed!

Top Mountain Star on the secondary summit of Wurmkogel, with a viewing platform and panorama bar at 3082 meters above sea-level, is a good place to relax and simply gaze in astonishment.

New features:

  • Spectacular path to the west ridge
  • Walk down to Hochgurgl along a secure path from the summit
  • Path for walking into König Valley

Archaeological circular walks and a journey into prehistory

“In the footsteps of the Iceman” – the sensational find of the Man in the Ice at an altitude of 3210 meters on the main chain of the Ötztal Alps has given fresh stimulus to the search for traces of human activity in the high mountains.

Archaeological excavations started on Beilstein (2117 m ) in summer 2002. Today an archaeological circular walk to Beilstein in combination with the Ramol Trail and the path to Lehnerkar-Soomseen offers a journey of discovery into prehistory.

From hut to hut

Ideal conditions for any real mountain lover: twenty (!) 3000-metre-high mountains and several glaciers offer infinite scope for alpine walks and expeditions.

Good to know

  • Twenty 3000-metre-high mountains
  • Four Alpine Club huts – Schönwieshütte (2262m) and three mountain-side huts with catering
  • Ramolhaus at 3005 m in sight of Hochwildehaus (2866 m) and Karlsruher Hütte (2430 m)
  • Guided glacier tour – across Rotmoosferner to Zwickauerhütte
  • Experience sunrise in the mountains in an Alpine Club hut!
